The Gabonese Republic ensures that all citizens are equal in the eyes of the law, irrespective of origin, race, gender, opinions or religious beliefs.
The national emblem is the tricolour flag - three horizontal bands (green, yellow and blue) of equal size.
The national anthem is called the « Concorde ».
The Republic's motto is: « Union - Work - Justice ».
The Republic's capital is Libreville.
The national holiday, Independence Day, is celebrated on 17 August.
The Gabonese Republic is organised according to the principle of national sovereignty, the separation of executive, legislative and judicial powers, and the principle of a constitutional state.
