Significant changes related to technological advances and the gradual liberalisation of the market have marked the telecommunications sector in Gabon over the past 5 years.
In 2009, President Ali Bongo Ondimba's Project for society, through the pillar constituted by the "Gabon of value-added services", has highlighted Gabon’s potentialities in terms of ICT: the digital economy is underway.
Through its developments and large-scale projects, Gabon is a figurehead in the African sub-region in terms of new technologies.
The sector displays all the potential for swift development and a source of economic growth.
